Rail Equipment Repair

Traction motors are used for providing initial rotational torque for machines responsible for generating linear motion. Locomotives use synchronous AC motors and, more frequently, AC induction asynchronous traction motors for running the high-speed locomotive with simpler reliable high-powered semiconductors. Traction motors convert about 90 percent of the electrical energy to mechanical energy.

Since the rail industry primarily uses traction motors, they tend to get very hot. It is nearly impossible to maintain a constant temperature without proper a blower assembly that can maintain temperatures for reasonably long periods of time. The blowers are powered with an AC supply, three-phase auxiliary inverter of varied voltage for maintaining optimum motor temperatures.

Maintenance is one area most rail companies need to focus on. Hence, dependable lifting equipments for rail transit are necessary. There are body hoist, body supports, car hoist, drop table, and several such other varied capacities of transit equipments available of several tons. L&S Electric also supports this industry with capable engineers and expert technicians to identify designs and manage solution for optimizing performance. As global demands for internationally and environmentally balanced innovative technologies are growing, the impetus for the transit equipments is also increasing.

Other than these there are other maintenance equipments as well as generators that are available. There are different fan assembly together with motors and main generators that are used. Both AC and DC fan assemblies are available. L&S Electric offers complete traction motor/generator, auxiliary unit repair, and 24-hour services, making us a complete source for locomotive motor, generator, and fan assembly repairs.
